The coaching industry is expanding at a record pace across the world, according to the latest global study from the International Coach Federation (ICF).
Coaching is taking off in new parts of the world too, indicates the ICF’s third survey, conducted by PwC, with responses from 137 countries. There are approximately 53,300 coach practitioners worldwide, suggests the study. And for active coaches, average annual revenue from coaching alone stands at US$51,000, while the estimated global total revenue from coaching in 2015 stood at US$2.356 billion. The latter represents a 19% increase from the 2011 estimate.
The study also highlights growth in managers and leaders being trained in coaching skills. Coaching in an organisation is the fastest growing segment in the industry, finds the 2016 ICF Global Coaching Study. The main obstacle in the industry is deemed to be the prevalence of untrained coaches.
