Profile

I am a highly skilled and experienced leadership coach with substantial experience of developing and changing organisations as well as the people within them. I currently work with GPs in leadership positions and with Directors in the public and third sectors. My work focuses on the leadership challenges faced by clients and how they operate in a complex political setting, often under intense public scrutiny. My vision of coaching is that it is a powerful enabler: supporting leaders to do their best, to be self confident and self-aware and to be resilient in tough environments. I am driven by a keen sense of fairness and am motivated particularly to work with clients who are grappling with organisational dynamics, organisational politics and their own self-confidence. I am accredited in psychometrics including MBTI and 16PF5 and am also an EMCC Accredited Coach-Senior Practitioner.

Coaching approach

I coach executive/senior leaders including clinicians. I support them in bringing themselves, their values and beliefs to their role; help them learn about themselves so that they are effective; develop their self awareness to enhance their ability to make decisions, make choices and live/work authentically; develop their awareness and understanding of others; encourage them to translate ideas into actions. My coaching is person centred, informed by a range of models and underpinned by my own development. I contract clearly, building trust, creating a safe environment from which to explore. I help clients learn by reflection and encourage them by giving of myself. Clients value my style and my experience, reporting an increased sense of self; greater confidence and awareness of their impact on others; a greater sense of control that allows for a positive personal impact.
