Having worked for a large national organization as a trainer I decided to go freelance. This was way back in 1990 and I have worked from myself ever since. Originally trained in counselling and groupwork I went on to train as a psychotherapist specializing in Transactional Analysis. I then took Organizational TA training and then became internationally accredited to train and supervise others in both the organizational and psychotherapy fields. My partner and I now work in nationally and internationally. We also facilitate open programs on TA. I have a varied client caseload including: Consultant Psychiatrist; owner/MD of a coaching consultancy; Regional & Financial Managers. I've meditated for 30 years and enjoy life. Qualifications: MSc (TA), Certified Transactional Analyst (O/P), FITOL, Teaching & Supervising Transactional Analyst (Organizational/Psychotherapy specialties)

Coaching approach

TA is a great approach as it equips people with the tools to take charge of their own lives, their emotions, communication and relationships. As a social psychology it is also ideally placed to be effective at both the individual and group levels. My organizational training enables me to put my coaching in context to support others. The psychotherapy field underpins what I do but coaching is not psychotherapy and I keep the boundaries between the two. I work contractually so that the coaching client, or the supervisee and I work in partnership and know where we are going. Group and team coaching enable me to use my group work training and facilitate learning and development. I believe in working to make myself redundant! Whilst it takes about 12 years to become a TSTA TA is also an approach that can be easily understood by everyone and blended with other approaches.
