Some 87 per cent of women believed they and their contemporaries have been passed over for promotion because of their gender, while 24 per cent claimed it was more difficult for them to gain recognition in their career, according to a survey of 2,000 women by Stylist Live (http://bit.ly/1WWrymh)
Meanwhile, a fifth of women surveyed admitted they think their male colleagues are more likely to get away with “slacking off”, and almost a third felt many assumed their work was a lot easier than that of a male colleague.
Accusations of incompetency were among the top 10 most common sexist things experienced by women workers (see box below).
