Coacharya, Professor Robert Garvey and Sweden’s Solidarity Coaching all received awards at the 21st European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC) annual coaching and mentoring conference in Venice, Italy on 20-22 November 2014.
Coacharya, an executive coaching firm dedicated to the enhancement of human potential through a ‘mindless’ and transformative coaching process, won the Coaching Award for its work across Asia promoting professional coaching. It established the Association of Indian Coaches in Bangalore.
Professor Robert Garvey, chair in Business Education at York St John Business School in the UK and EMCC founder, won the Mentoring Award
(he also won Coaching at Work’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Contributions to Mentoring, vol 9, issue 5, p16).
EMCC Sweden’s Solidarity Coaching programme won the Solidarity Coaching Award. The programme has been running for three years and supports Salvation Army managers with a low income (since the money goes to social help, not salaries). By supporting managers with coaching they contribute to the social and charitable aspect of the Salvation Army, while helping managers with their difficult work.
Dr Lise Lewis, president of EMCC, said: “Our aim is to continue to contribute to the professionalisation of mentoring and coaching and to fulfil our social responsibility as a not-for-profit independent professional body. We believe these awards contribute to that vision.”
