The Belbin Team Role Inventory is based on global research into managers’ behaviour carried out by Meredith Belbin and his team between 1970 and 1979. Participants were split into teams and their core personality traits, intellectual styles and behaviours assessed while they completed a complex management exercise and various psychometric tests.
