Stephen Palmer, publisher of Coaching at Work, has been given an accolade for his contributions in the arena of health promotion and education.
Professor Palmer was awarded the Diamond Fellow Award from the Institute of Health Promotion and Education (IHPE) to commemorate his contributions to the field of health promotion and education as well as to the development of the IHPE.
The IHPE is a professional association for anyone involved with health education and promotion and is dedicated to improving standards as well as publicising health education and promotion practice and theory.
Professor Palmer said “I am delighted and honoured to accept this award in recognition of my work. I hadn’t realised that I had been nominated so it is a pleasant surprise.”
The most cited article (sourced www.crossref.org) in IHPE’s journal over the past 60 years is the article Palmer co-authored with Irene Tubbs and the late Alison Whybrow (Palmer, Tubbs & Whybrow, 2003) on health coaching. The article was one of the first about health coaching published in a peer reviewed academic journal.
