Coaching gives teams ‘safe space for opening up’

Coaching has been given the thumbs up as a means to support team working, including by improving communication and enabling a systemic understanding and approach to problem solving, reveals research.

“Team coaching supports team working by providing a forum for dialogue to take place, improving communication, giving focus and clarity of shared goals and increasing trust and collaboration,” said Vera Woodhead, of Edimo Coaching, who carried out the research among heads of disciplines at an NHS teaching hospital in the UK.
