Ho Law, chair of the British Psychological Society’s Special Group in Coaching Psychology (BPS SGCP), has set the record straight on accreditation for coaching psychologists. He said that “in contrast to many people’s beliefs”, there is relevant accreditation for coaching psychologists who are BPS SGCP members. Qualified psychologists who offer coaching as part of their psychological services have a directory of Chartered Psychologists (CPsychol). A framework for various BPS registers is being developed to meet members’ diverse needs. “We believe these arrangements would be both inclusive and fit-for-purpose so the future looks bright for all BPS SGCP members,” said Law.
