The conference, which will be held at Henley Business School, will look at the role coaching and coaches can play in current challenging times. It will ask what coaches and coaching clients should be focusing on and how coaches can be as effective as possible.
Hugh Evans, head of corporate learning at Henley Business School will be among the speakers. Evans will share data on what is being asked of Henley coaches. Malcolm Higgs, professor of HR and organisation behaviour at Southampton University will talk about coaching to develop emotional intelligence, looking at where coaches should be targeting. Peter Hawkins, visiting professor from Bath University, will talk about team coaching and Nancy Kline, president of Time to Think, will talk about the role coaching plays in creating a thinking environment.
APECS is a not-for-profit professional organisation. Its key objectives include the accreditation of executive coaches and supervisors who attain the required APECS standards. It also sets out to enable coaches, supervisors and corporate buyers of executive coaching and consultants in the field to meet, exchange views and best practice and provide mutual support and development. Its third objective is to contribute to the development of the executive coaching profession, including ethical standards and practice excellence.
Henley Coaching Services was set up in January 2005, with the launch of its flagship programme, the Henley Certificate in Coaching. It has six programmes running this year, along with a number of in-house versions for line managers.
