Leadership coaching firm the Forton Group has launched a programme to help university graduates find work.
Job fit coincides with the release of a CBI report which found that 35 per cent of students would have taken part in an employability development programme if it had been offered to them.
The CBI/Universities UK report, Future fit: preparing graduates for the world of work, was launched on 26 March.
Under the Forton Group initiative, 18 professional career coaches will be offering a free 30-minute coaching session to the first 50 final-year students and 2008 graduates who apply.
“Businesses have a responsibility to nurture young people at this stage in their careers,” said Helen Caton Hughes, Forton Group chief executive. “By making at least 50 sessions free and any other coaching available at a student-friendly price, we hope to encourage undergraduates and new graduates to take advantage of something that has proven success in preparing people practically and psychologically to find a job.”
