After a 20 year career in central Government followed by a two year spell with Sainsburys launching their home shopping business, I set up my leadership development consultancy, Working Solutions, in 1996. 1:1 coaching now constitutes most of my work and over the past six years I have coached around 300 people - CEOs, Directors, senior managers, high potentials ... Many of them, given my background, have been senior civil servants. My paper credentials are: • MSc with Merit (Organisational Behaviour), University of London • Certified Management Consultant (CMC) • Professional Certified Coach (CIPD) • Fellow, Institute of Business Consulting (FIBC) • NLP Practitioner • BPS certificates Levels A & B (including MBTI Steps 1 and 2) • Certificate in Gestalt Coaching Skills • Currently engaged in study for an MA in Professional Development (Coaching) • Published academic author

As a trained management consultant and coach, I draw on a number of approaches but my objective is always the same: to help my clients to achieve change. I often take a solution-focused approach and the and aim to help clients to find their own solutions through a mix of support and challenge. I am also comfortable with putting on my ‘consultant hat’ and offering suggestions and hypotheses, if that is what is wanted. My natural style, from a position of enthusiasm and optimism, is to help each individual to build on their existing strengths and, through that process, to learn how best to draw on their and others’ resources to meet their particular challenges. I am qualified to use a range of psychometric instruments and diagnostic questionnaires and particularly enjoy working with people who are in career transition.
