Kath Howard

Profile

I am a Chartered Occupational Psychologist, and in Executive Coaching & Mentoring at postgraduate level with the ILM. I have spent nearly 20 years working across sectors within Organisation Development, Occupational Psychology and Learning teams, facilitating and driving cultural and behavioural change. This has included leading large-scale cultural change programmes for charities such as Sue Ryder, and supporting systemic change within start-ups, public corporations and the children’s charity, Save the Children. I am a Fellow of the CIPD and Associate Fellow of the BPS, and I am highly skilled in the use of psychometric tools. I draw on these skills to stretch and support my Coachees to achieve their ambitious vision and goals.

Coaching approach

I have a very human-centred approach; I believe the Coachee has the power and means to achieve their potential and my role is to facilitate this to happen. My coaching sessions are not about coming away with a tick list of actions that the Coachee can complete before our next session. I want the coaching sessions to be searching, thought-provoking, challenging and also fun. There most certainly will be progress toward key coaching goals, but sometimes this is about creating greater understanding, self-belief or self-awareness, rather than the illusion of progress through ‘doing lists of stuff.’ I believe that it is my responsibility as a Coach to help my clients to: • Clarify and align their work and personal lives with their individual purpose, and the mission of their role and organisation • Move toward greater self-discovery, sometimes stretching into realms that feel uncomfortable
