Freelance consultant and coach after years as an internal BBC coach. Clients include public and private health sector, financial services, political parties, government, international development, broadcasting. I provide coaching, facilitation, career development and consulting up to Board level. Prior to that senior leader in the BBC overseeing the managerial and editorial performance of radio stations, local television and internet services, during a time of considerable structural, technological and financial change. Worked as internal BBC coach across divisions including World Service, IT, BBC Monitoring and Worldwide. Currently studying for a Postgraduate Certificate in Supervision for Coaching and Mentoring at Oxford Brookes University. I have an MSc in Coaching and Development (with distinction) on the course set up by Portsmouth University and Sir John Whitmore’s Performance Consultants. I have an MBA and am an accredited coach through the Association for Coaching and have BPS psychometric qualifications including MBTI Step I and II.

I use many approaches tailored to individual clients’ agendas and what works best in unlocking their potential. I have been encouraged in this approach by experience from extensive coach training, delivery, academic research and writing. I think my key tools are an ability to listen, support, question in a non confrontational and yet quietly challenging way at times and to build rapport and mutual respect very quickly. Alongside this I may use tools drawn from many backgrounds, including solutions focus, gestalt, transpersonal, NLP and cognitive behavioural. While I specialise in organisational coaching at all levels from team leader to the Board, I do not believe the person leaves the rest of their life at the office door! I have worked as a senior leader and that experience seems to help clients relate to me and feel supported in dealing with the realities of current working life including handling huge change.
