My approach to coaching is based on a humanistic model that treats the client as inherently resourceful. This non-directive approach relies on the skilful use of questioning to unlock a client’s potential in order to enhance their performance. The purpose of coaching is to bring about change and action. I focus on developing a coaching relationship that is genuine, based on trust, and which provides an appropriate balance between support and challenge. Whilst it is true that coaching is action-oriented, my approach is flexible and is directed towards the whole person. Sometimes the best way to assist a client in changing their behaviour is to look at the mindset that is driving that behaviour. My coaching enables significant and fundamental shifts in thinking.
