Any promotion, internal or external, will likely fail if the appointee is not taken seriously. Coaching can be of huge benefit here. It can help the client establish credibility with colleagues and make their mark in the business.
Most coaches will be asked at some point to help a client establish a sense of credibility, particularly if the latter needs to hit the ground running in a new role or organisation. Coming across as credible is also imperative for those who have been promoted internally.
