Myles Downey, founder of London-based coaching consultancy and training firm, The School of Coaching, and author of Effective Coaching, said that the values match between the two business cultures was “excellent”.

The two consultancies have a shared purpose of making a difference in the world through coaching and consulting others, as well as developing individuals, teams and organisations in order to transform their performance.

He continued: “We certainly each understand and apply the power of professional coaching to achieve business results. The School of Coaching team will benefit from the solid business structures JMJ has formed for itself over its 21-year history. Most importantly, becoming part of the JMJ community will allow us to spread our ‘difference-making’ more quickly around the globe.”

JMJ Associates, founded in San Francisco in 1987 by Jay Greenspan, Mike Goddu and Joseph Friedman, was a licensee and beneficiary of The School of Coaching’s methodology prior to the acquisition. JMJ CEO Stephen Portner, said: “This acquisition is a strategic move for both parties, broadening the client base, depth of expertise and value we each bring to our clients.”
